Nightmares

The Worst Nightmare

Sometimes we have bad dreams and sometimes those dreams start to convert in nightmares; the dreams are the consequences of a lot the ideas that everybody have in the day, week, month, etc.

The science don´t have a specific idea about the meaning of the dreams, but the psychologists have some theory about this topic, those theorys talks about  a way for relax the mind, or express some thoughts.

So try to share your worst nightmare, what feeling did you experiment in the moments that you wake up?,  what do you think about the dreams?, Do you think that the dreams havea special meaning?.

In my case, I had a nightmare when I was little, I was in a neighborhood were I was walking alone in the street, in this moments I start to see body like the representation of death, and it body start to follow me, so I start to run as fast as I could, in that moment I wake up very scary.
I think that the dreams don´t have a specific meaning but maybe, God can used this way for talk with us.

Christmas it's coming!!!!

Christmas it's coming soon, this year goes really fast! How many think the same? I want to know about your traditions, what do you do on that special time of the year, many people used to buy gifts, travel to see their families, friends or their couple.

Personally I hate to go out this time of the year, because outside everybody is crazy, the malls are full because a lot of people likes to go shopping and the cashiers are very stress and sometimes they get confused and people in the lines gets angry.

The airports always are more recurrents on this season,  everybody buy tickets to fly but they are too expensive don't you think?

Let me tell you what my family and I do:
1. We try to be all together and buy the things to prepare dinner, sometimes my mother cook tamales or pierna, my sisters participate in the kitchen a lot.
2. About the gifts, we prefer to buy everything in November or in January because my whole family hates crowded places.
3. During the night of december 24th we are all together, we have dinner and give thanks to God for everything, specially for the gift of family, we talk about everything and when the day ends at 12:00 am we burn fireworks with my whole family !!!! It's the most greatfull time.

Well everybody came from differents families, cultures and traditions so... why don't you share what do you do on christmas?

The soul experiences in your life

What about you? Where and when do you feel it?

Every one of us have had one, two or many memorable soul experiences.  I´m talking about those experiences that you remember at all, sometimes this had happened in places like in your neighborhood, at church, or in a retreat, even though in your house, in your car, in an expensive trip, or gathering with friends and family. Maybe your life had a change after it.

You don´t have to share who it happened along with.  Only the experience or experiences, at least one and no more than three.

Give specific details, as what happened, when it happened, how you felt about it, and what it is memorable to you.  Don´t worry because it isn´t a competition about the best one, it´s only about our experiences.

Let me share with you some of my experiences, two of them took place in the magical place of Atitlan the first one was going down through the narrow road from Santa Clara La Laguna to San Pedro La Laguna in one December down where the view of the Volcanos is mixed with the gentle water of the lake, and the bright of the 12 towns around the lake, the breeze of the lake hugs you in the middle of that blue sky without clouds, and every atom of pure air gets into your soul. As beauty that I used to appreciate it for a few minutes, with the whisper of the birds and vegetation behind and the pleasure of the feeling near God, nature and my soul.

The other one was in San Pedro La Laguna, at down too, in a hike at time when most people is still sleeping and in the middle of the forest, near the shore of the lake, the view of a canoe where a fisherman had waited that fishes bite the bait, I felt the peace that surroundings provides, in that moment no matters what was happening far away, be ready to appreciate the beauty, the peace and be grateful of all the blessings that I have had.  I can share a picture of that moment. This blessings happend to us in every moment, even in bad moments, so the clue is to be able to accept  and appreciate them all the time.

There are many more, but I think it´s enough, so let´s share with us any experience that you had had, after experiencing that moments you feel yourself fulfill of energy and peace, sometimes are places, sometimes is people, a person or situations that make you feel it.

If I were a rich man...

The Fiddler on thee Roof is now a popular musical in Broadway. It is the story of a milkman in a town in Russia. He has five daughters. He imagines a life as a rich man and this song explains pretty much of what he feels.
Remember IF in the 2nd Conditional is used for IMAGINARY SITUATIONS.
What are some imaginary situations for you.
Tevye gives us several examples of what he would or could do if he were a rich man.
Personally I can share with you some of my imaginary situations:
"If I weren't a teacher, I couldn't imagine what other job I would do.  But if I were something else, I would be an ambassador of our country in a European country. I would speak 5 languages. I would meet very important people. If I were the ambassador in Italy, I would visit Vatican City. I would love to go to the ancient Colosseum.
If I were the ambassador, I could live in a fancy mansion in England. If I had a lot of free time, I would go to every museum. I would even go to the Louvre Museum if i went to France.
I would marry a Greek man and ask him to teach me how to prepare pita bread. "

Well, now it is your turn. You can see that I only used an imaginary situation and thought of all the things I WOULD or COULD do.
Give us as many details as you can.
Don't forget to comment your friends' post. Two minimum.
Good luck!

Dear Pioneers,
This week in our writing we will share an anecdote.
Keep in mind that the objective is to use the past tenses or narrative tenses and time markers.
Some ideas of anecdotes can be:

  1. The time you met your husband/wife)
  2. A memorable experience in your life.
  3. Your high school friends.
  4. A trip you took.

You will organize your writing as follows:

  1. Paragraph 1 --> introduction of your topic, characters and setting
  2.  Paragraph 2 -->      Situation (problem+solution
  3. Paragraph 3 --> end of story
This Saturday we will have an Anecdote Contest in class.
Do yo want to find out who will be the winner????

What does Independence represent?

When I was a little girl, September was a month we would prepare for with anticipation.  I remember I was a drum majorette in parades for a couple of years. Other two years I was a flag student. My grandparents would never miss the grand parade in which the most prestigious schools participated. Those definitely were good old days.
However, patriotism has not faded. The problem is that our country is submerged in other many matters. For instance violence, the high cost of life, corruption and more.
As patriot citizens, we do not love our country less than what we should. The sad thing is we are afraid an disappointed of how those matters affect our country and the lack of interest on behalf of the government. Perhaps not only the government, but also other interested parties.

Well, one thing I know for sure is I love my country and it really means a lot to me. Every morning I wake up and thank God for this country and pray for our government representatives, for all the good citizens who try their best with the work of their hands and good will. That is what independence represents to me. The opportunity of living in a country where I can plant dreams and cultivate them with effort, for me and my future generations. With the hope that our nation one day will really be free!

How about you?
What does Independence represent to you?
What do you like the most about September?
